Desert island luxury...

You are going to be sent to the desert island of Gawaii. It is a beautiful place with sandy beaches, palm trees and freshwater rivers. The sea surrounding it is crystal clear. The days are always sunny and rain only ever falls at night.

On the island there is a cabin for you to live in. Inside, there is a wooden bed, a wooden chair, a bowl for washing, a toothbrush and paste, a bucket, a cup, a plate, a cooking pot, a knife and a spoon. You have a selection of hats, underwear, trousers, tops and footwear to choose from. You also have some basic tools: a saw, a spade, a lighter, some rope, a sharp knife some string, a hammer and nails.

On Gawaii, there are plenty of fruit trees and vegetables that grow in the ground. You could survive just by eating these fruit and vegetables and drinking the water from the rivers.

Before you go to live on Gawaii, you are asked to choose some things from each of the following lists. What do you choose?

I kept changing my mind throughout this - first I had the mattress, pillow and duvet and then thought that I could just wrap the duvet around me to lie on and under. I would need an armchair though because my back is not too good.

  6. Thanks Molls... I have everything I need for....

Cooking, having a hot wash, sitting on the balcony of an evening watching the sunset. Getting a good night's sleep, making and listening to music. Plus regular deliveries of wonderful made-by-me dinners.

Is a regular visit from a special friend not also an option? Shame to waste those candles, mattress and duvet.

  7. OK Codgi - you can have a SF too. I bend rules all the time.

  13. Pearl - you got a boat. Good bit of rule breaking. We leave when everyone has decided what to take. I am building the blogship now. We will be on neighbouring islands and your boat will give you kudos and visiting capabilities. You're such a good cheat.

FF - you can cheat too....how about a time and distance travelling machine?

Berowne - another fine bit of rule breaking. granted.

Eric - a fine selection and despite admiring the rule breaking going on, I also appreciate those that play the game as it was intended. We'll pop by Texas to pick you up.

  14. I would take the contract with all the television rights and, having opted for the extension, charge the film crew extortionate rent. I'll also go for the pen and paper so they can sign their IOU's in exchange for the bread, rice and butter. I reckon I would then be in a strong position to swap places for the return trip to normality in windswept Sunderland where I'll make my fortune from the film and then living my life out in sheer luxury...perhaps on a desert island!

  15. Oops, I think I pressed the wrong button and lost the comment I just made.

I basically said I enjoyed the comments enough to get involved.

    Ah, there it is!

  16. Well Ken D you've added a whole new dimension there. What was I thinking not offering a contract with all televison rights to set off your series of beneficial events?

When you return to live on an island, be sure to find one at the end of the SS Blog's line where you'll find Pearl and Eric rowing us to FF's to have a go on an armchair, Codgi cooking us all fish that Berowne caught. Dessert at Eric's (Chocolate bread) while he tells us about the stars ...it'll be a blissful existence...until we become terrorised by the stunningly beautiful, mesmerising Fleeshil - servants of the flesh eating Krargril monster (that was trapped in the body of a giant squid by a wicked sea-witch) that needs to eat human hair in order to set itself free from the spell and we notice that slowly one by we are becoming bald. Things turn sour and we fall out over the hair loss, all secretly suspicious of each other.........to be continued.

You sure you want the television rights?

  17. Set up before you arrive – you can choose three
    • A water system that meant you had a tap in your cabin
    • A light switch that switches a light on in the cabin and one just outside the cabin.

Luxury items to take with - you can choose four
    • A telescope
    • A boat
    • A hammock
    • Pen and paper

The hammock will be just as good as mattress, pillor and armchair in one! Telescope for star spotting and watching wildlife, and pen and paper to write lots of novels and memoirs about my adventures. Boat to go somewhere else if I need company or supplies!

Regular deliveries - you can choose five. These will be delivered once a week.

    • Milk (as long as its Long Life)
    • Tea and coffee
    • pasta
    • soap
    • Tissue

Can't wait to go! Sounds great!

  18. gosh - how nit picky am I picking Pearl up on her boat. Umm, can I just play the AR card please.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Actually FF - it does say boat...i hadn't realised myself and I wrote it!!!!

    Nikki,
We're taking over a little set of islands in the South Pacific (Blog Isles). Each island will be simply named after each of their inhabitants. You'd go to Nikki island for tissue for example and if she was up for sharing because she was not bald. I've had to buy more islands. Gawaii was only good for me. Just think what fun we'll have...all these bloggy folks. Have I lost it?
